ICYMI: that time I met Tom Hardy: #throwbackthursday

I’ve had a bit of a #hardyhangover since watching Dunkirk. I mean, that (pretty much) second to last scene on the beach, in the turtleneck – it just does something to a girl. Turns out Mr. Hardy and myself have a bit of history. I wrote this post 4 years ago, to celebrate the year anniversary of meeting Pillow Lips. Here we are at another anniversary so I decided to share it again. I took the liberty of slightly editing it for clarity and cohesiveness. Also, don’t judge my writing. I think we can all agree I’ve improved since this was orginally posted. (a little bit, at least.)  Enjoy! It’s…

    jawlines over storylines

I’ve been really catching up on my movie watching lately. Today’s much-delayed movie conversation is going to be about Dunkirk. My feelings were very love/hate. Loved: HARRY STYLES. Tom Hardy the cinematography the chiseled cheeks and strong jawlines Hated: everything else hate is a strong word. thoroughly disliked is more like it. I only watch war movies for the men in uniform. Pearl Harbor? Josh Hartnett. Black Hawk Down? Josh Hartnett. Dunkirk? Tom Hardy & Harry Styles (Fionn Whitehead is a strong runner-up, but he’s barely out of diapers.) Apart from that, I usually depend on the fact that there will be a love story or a bromance to keep…

    obligatory oscars post 2016

Obligatory Oscar post starts now: If you thought I wasn’t going to bring up Leo finally winning a gold statue, you’d be horribly wrong and I don’t know if we could ever be friends. If you’re my friend on Facebook you probably already know that when Julianne Moore said his name, a scream was let out of my throat and it took me almost a hot minute to realize it really did come out of me. I loved Kate Winslet’s reaction, loved his acceptance speech; the only way it could have been better would be if he lifted his statue in the air and said “I made it count!” (I’m the…

guys who look like they should be in ads for watches

It’s that time of the year again! (I feel like I say that at least once a month.)  It’s the time where People Magazine crowns their Sexiest Man Alive. This year, as I’m sure you’ve all heard by now, the honor was bestowed upon the one and only David Beckham. Posh and Becks are my favorite Hollywood power couple and have been for a long time so I’m abnormally proud of Davey. That, and really, Matthew McConaughey and Bradley Cooper do nothing for me. As pleased as I am that David and his tattoos are gracing the cover, I of course, would love to talk about some other men who…

    midweek random roundup

I probably should have saved this post for Friday since it fits the Friday Five description, but I’m a rebel and play by my own rules. It’s been a pretty busy week so let’s get started, shall we? MINDY IS BACK: !! Season 4 premiered on Tuesday and all is right in my world. It was an extended episode and, honestly, I savored every extra second. I won’t say too much because 1) we’d be here all day and 2) spoilers. I mean, I assume there are some people who are not like me and happened to be up early enough on Tuesday and were able to watch the episode before work. before…

i want to be BFFs with anna kendrick (but not shonda rhimes).

This video popped up in my YouTube subscription box yesterday. Be grateful that it did because otherwise you’d be suffering through reading about my feelings on the fuckery that went on last Thursday (get help, Shonda), the Bruce Jenner interview (i am amazed and so happy for the support he’s been getting from not only his family, but from all over. AS HE SHOULD). Also, Tom Hardy is on the cover of Details magazine this month. But, you’ve been spared, for now. All I can say is 1) Anna Kendrick, please be my best friend and 2) for the love of God- HIRE ME, KATE SPADE. please? Totes adorbs. You know what,…

    new movie alert!

Remember when I tried to tell you the “abridged” story of how there was a movie starring Tom Hardy in my neighborhood and how I met him? Well, that movie is finally being released! It’s coming out on September 12th(so soon!) and it now has an official trailer. Want to see it? Look no further: I said in my original post that the movie takes place in Boston but, I was wrong and it in fact does take place in Brooklyn. I totally should have offered him my linguistic accent services. Not that he needs it because he is just… TOM HARDY. Need I say more? I didn’t think so. Speaking of…

that time I met Tom Hardy: #throwbackthursday

It’s that time of the week again! #throwbackthursday! I decided to post this one here because 1) it’s about damn time I got back to posting on here and 2) it’s too cool for just an instagram post. This week I’m not traveling too far back in my life. Actually, the event occurred only about a year ago. I’ll try to keep it short , but when I get excited I tend to ramble and this story makes me SUPER EXCITED. Long story short – there was a movie being filmed mere blocks from my house. My partners in crime and I went to explore. There was some schmoozing involved.…
