a loosey goosey kind of challenge

You know what I love? When I stumble upon a blogging challenge. You know what I love more? When that challenge is a non-challenge! I was scrolling through my Bloglovin’ feed and the Back to Blogging Non-Challenge Challenge from alyssagoesbang came up. The challenge is a month long invitation to write about one (or all) of the topics provided. No deadlines. No pressure. Very loosey goosey. That’s my kind of challenge. Of the 10 prompts, I chose “What Makes You Feel Peaceful” to write about. Except, as usual, I’m going to bend the prompt a bit and write about what makes me feel peaceful and makes me happy/ gives me pleasure.…

    Brooklyn: worth the hype?

A few posts ago I mentioned that I wanted to link up with Steph and Jana for the Show Us Your Books link up. I missed the last one, but here I am now! finally. I peruse Amazon on a pretty regular basis for new books. I keep a queue on my Kindle and I have a small box of paper books, much to the annoyance of my roommate mother. sorry, ma. #dealwithit I found Brooklyn on Amazon a while ago. The synopsis seemed OK, but I knew I would need to be in a certain frame of mind to read it. I usually read frothy chick lit. I’d apologize, but nah. Anyway, Brooklyn had…

    you probably don’t know…

Today I’m linking up with Helene! It took me a while to think of something to write about for this post. What haven’t I shared? I’m pretty much an open book that keeps repeating itself. Finally, I thought of something that’s a little funny, maybe a little sad, and a lot embarrassing. You probably don’t know…. that I (basically) hate going down steps. And here’s why. Right before my second birthday – like less than a week before- I was trying to go up the stairs just as my mom was coming down. I tried to turn and go back down but wound up falling and landing with my leg…

    sons of hollywood

Monday, we meet again. Nothing gets me through another Monday like candy. Man candy, that is. Every so often a new face comes on to the scene that makes everyone wonder who he is, where he came from, and if he would enjoy a nice tongue bath. Sometimes that face was plucked from obscurity, never to been seen on a farm or working retail ever again. Other times, that face has a famous lineage. This week’s man crush Monday is all about the sons of Hollywood. Ready? Scott Eastwood Son of: Clint Eastwood Scott seems to be the All American type of guy. He could rope a calf, bale hay, and…

    little weirdo?

Today I’m linking up with Taylor from The Daily Tay and she wants to know what kind of kid I was. Other than adorable? *wink* I usually classify myself as a “weird” kid. I’m a typical only child. I talk to myself, I’m fine with not being in big groups of people, I can entertain myself. I’m pretty shy when you first meet me. I’m using the present tense because although I’d like to say I’ve grown out of certain things but, I really haven’t. When I was little, my favorite thing to do was to drag my little plastic chair, which I’m pretty sure my mom bought from one of those…

One Direction, a little BSB, and Band Aid

So, One Direction’s new album, Four, was released on Monday and it is AWESOME! It isn’t like anything they’ve released before. All of the boys have had a hand in writing the songs on this one. Most of all, Louis and Liam. I don’t know how to even begin to review the album, as this is not Rolling Stone. Luckily, they have released all of the songs on their Vevo page on Youtube. So, I’ll post my favorites here. Where Do Broken Hearts Go? Supposedly, this one was written by Harry to Taylor Swift. He’s sorry, Taylor. He knows what he’s done and wants to fix it. Come out of…

    Fast Friday Five!

I don’t have a lot of time to write this so I’m going to get right to it. And if you’re wondering, no, there won’t be alliterative titles for these post every time. I just got lucky this week. I just found out this afternoon that Fox has ordered more episodes for The Mindy Project! So now season 3 will have 21 episodes and I couldn’t be happier! Maybe next week I won’t include something TMP related, but for now let me live. I am addicted to the dollar sections in stores like Target and Michaels. I know I said that last week, but I only mentioned Target. I have…

    First Friday Five!

It’s finally Friday! This will be my first Friday Five! I guess I’m feeling (f)alliterative. The first two things should come as no surprise since I bring them up every chance I get. But since this week was really uneventful, and I need things to list, I’m including them. The Mindy Project is back!- I probably don’t have to elaborate. As I’ve said in my last post, Mindanny is back and all is right in the (my) world. Growing Up Gotti is back!- My DVR is set for not only the hour long “where are they now?” special, but the 6 random episodes that A&E is playing on Sunday. Fingers crossed…
