reading habits tag!

By now everyone should know that I love a good survey and am constantly on the hunt for them. A few days ago I was watching my usual YouTube videos and in my subscription box a video from Samantha March popped up and it was a reading habits tag video. My two favorite things – books and surveys! It seemed different enough to spice it up a bit around here so here we go!

1. Do you have a certain place at home for reading?
Usually my couch or in bed. The East wing of my house is closed for renovations so until that’s done, I don’t have much of a choice.

2. Bookmark or random piece of paper?
I break the cardinal rule of dog-earing pages. I’ve had good old Catholic guilt about it since they taught us how to use the library in elementary school. i just can’t stop.

3. Can you just stop reading or do you have to stop after a chapter/ a certain amount of pages?
I sort of speed read so I almost skim through the pages. I can stop anywhere since I usually re-read the page anyway.

4. Do you eat or drink while reading?
If I’m reading on my Kindle, yes. If not, no because I’m not skilled enough to hold the book, hold my snack or drink and also turn pages. It would be an absolute mess.

5. Multitasking: Music or TV while reading?
I always have the TV on. I need background noise.

6. One book at a time or several at once?
One at a time. As in life, I am a monogamous type of girl. Honestly, I’ve tried to read more than one book at a time but I usually end up confusing the storylines and characters so I wind up putting one down.

7. Reading at home or everywhere?
I’ll read anywhere. When I was little I used to bring a huge backpack filled with books. Like Matilda and her little red wagon. Just in case of a book emergency. Now, I like to have my book or my Kindle with me, just in case.

8. Reading out loud or silently in your head?

9. Do you read ahead or even skip pages?
If I’m reading a regular book, I’ll flip through to see if the same names are still around and see if I could figure out what’s going to happen. is that weird? I try not to outright skip pages, but if I am finding the book to be slow or boring or too much of something, I’ll skip through just to move it along.

10. Breaking the spine or keeping it like new?
I usually keep it like new. Not because I NEED it to be like that, but because I feel so guilty about the dog-earing pages I feel like I shouldn’t break the spine.

11. Do you write in your books?
Not usually. Sometimes I’ll highlight a quote or something that I like, but I don’t make notes or add my opinion anywhere on the pages.

12. Who do you tag?
Whoever wants to do it! Just leave me a comment or find me on social media and let me know that you did it so I could read your answers!
