fashion hits- grammys 2015

The Grammys were on last night and for some reason I haven’t seen any posts on the night’s fashions. Never fear! That’s what I’m here for. I don’t know if this will be a best/worst kind of thing, but as usual, since almost no forethought went into this post, I’m just going to throw it all out there and see where it lands. (and by “no forethought” i mean i just want to look at pretty dresses and handsome men in tuxedos, not rank them in order of any kind of greatness.)

I’m not a fan of the color black in clothing. Sure, every woman needs her go – to LBD and there are some pieces that, if you’re going to make an investment, should be black or at least extremely neutral so that you get your money’s worth. In general though, I prefer color. There’s just too many of them not to take advantage. Last night, I noticed a nice handful of black dresses and I have to say, I wasn’t disappointed.

I’ve mentioned here before that I’m not a big Beyonce fan. However, when she hits it, she hits it. amirite?

off topic – i’d love to look through their photo albums, no?

I’m glad that Nicki Minaj has finally dropped the rainbow hair and the crazy outfits because underneath it all, I think she’s really attractive. I never thought I’d be complimenting her outfit but we’re both growing up, I guess.

Then we move inside and the show starts. Jessie J comes out with Tom Jones and it’s all kinds of jaw dropping. My aunt and uncle had come over for dinner and stayed to watch some of the show.

All she has on is her underwear! – my uncle screamed

If I had her body, I’d throw that on to go grocery shopping – my aunt countered

God bless her – my mother mumbled

Honestly, I’m going to have to go with my mom and my aunt on this one. If I had her body, I’d probably forget to put that overlay on before I ran out to my local grocery store. God Bless.

Also, can we please talk about Tom Jones’ jacket? I’m in love. What are my chances of getting my future husband, whoever he may be, to wear that bad boy at our wedding? I’m going to try.

Lady Gaga is another person who has cleaned her fashion act up – thank goodness. I was getting a little tired of the meat dresses and the hatching out of an egg and the polar bear’s ass around her head. She’s been working with Tony Bennett for a while now and it only did good things for her, in my opinion.

She’s another one that if I had her body, I’d throw one of those dresses on to run errands.

I’m glad that Taylor Swift wore color. A really pretty one too. At first I was a little eh over her outfit, but then I saw her shoes and I was all for it. Also, I was happy this dress “forbid” her from wearing a red lip. It’s a nice change.

Katy Perry might not have worn color, per-say, but her hair was purple so that counts. I loved her dress because it sparkled. (spoiler alert: i love anything that sparkles)

Men’s fashion is so hard to comment on because, really, they all look the same after a while. But there are some exceptions. John Mayer, for example. I don’t know where he crawled out from but he looks good. Ed Sheeran looks like Ed Sheeran. A little unkempt yet still put together. A little bad ass (those tattoos!) with a baby’s face.

Can we talk about Nick Jonas for a minute? First of all, how old his he? I thought he was 21 but he doesn’t look 21, does he? Is this what 21 year olds look like these days? Woof. To be honest, his suit would not be my first choice. But then again, he could show up in just his Calvins and I don’t think anyone would mind.

ahem, well.
ahem, well.

See what I mean?

Last but not least, and believe me I wasn’t going to even mention her, but I am really loving Kim Kardashian‘s haircut. I would say “new haircut” but honestly, I have no idea if it’s new. I can’t keep up. (ba dum dum) Her dress? eh. I love that it’s beaded and sparkly but it looks like a robe. She looks unfinished finished. Like, there’s nothing to add but she doesn’t seem quite done. Is it me?

So how did I do? What are your thoughts on last night’s fashions? The performances? The awards in general? Leave me a comment and let’s discuss! (<- I think I found a way to sign off!)
