fall feelings

In case you missed the memo, it’s finally October. Except it’s 80 degrees and humid here in Brooklyn so that Fall feeling isn’t really happening. However, I came across this festive Fall survey over on Nadine’s blog (who found it here)and even though I’m tardy to the link up party, I’m going to do it anyway because I can’t resist.

TBB asks fall

Favorite Fall Sweet Treat?

hmm.. apple cider donuts. good ones though because sometimes they could be dry. i like the ones with the cinnamon sugar on them, sometimes they’ll throw some apple bits in too. my mouth is watering.

Red, Yellow or Green Apples?

RED. like my home girl Snow White, i can’t resist a perfect red apple. just hold the poison, thanks.

Favorite Fall Sport to Play?

Best Drink for Fall?

apple cider. it’s so versatile. you can have it iced/cold, hot, or alcoholic.giphy (7)

Favorite Fall Activity?

i would love to say apple/pumpkin picking but i haven’t been in years. i would also say watching football, but again, that hasn’t happened for me in forever. so, who knows.

Must have Fall purchase?

cardigans, boots, leggings, skinny jeans, BLANKET SCARVES.

Pumpkins: Pick your own or store bought?

pick my own. i just feel like there are some things you shouldn’t just throw on a grocery shopping list.

Real or Fake Pumpkin?

Favorite Halloween Costume?

i just had this conversation with my mom. as a kid, i went as “my mom” where i put curlers in my hair, a nightshirt and pajama pants, a robe and carried a coffee mug. that was a big hit, except my mother has never walked around in curlers and a robe a day in her life so, semantics? i was also a phone. there should be pictures somewhere on here from last year’s halloween post. if not, picture a Zach Morris cellphone with my face where your ear would go. also, it rang. surprisingly, i was never bullied.

more recently, i was a martini, which was one of my favorites. this year i was thinking of going as 90’s mom on vacation, complete with a fanny pack and scrunchie but some other parts of the costume i was building in my head don’t easily come in my size (a neon windbreaker, acid wash jeans) so i bought a headband with a crown on it from the dollar section at target and voila, i’m a princess.

College Football or NFL?

NFL. go Giants!

Fall or Halloween Decor?

Fall, unless it’s cute halloween and not scary halloween.

Raking Leaves or no Leaves to Rake?

we have leaves but we don’t rake them. we sweep them up along with the acorns the squirrels throw at us. i’ll pretend like i do this on a regular any kind of basis, but i’d be lying.

giphy (8)

Favorite Soup?

all of them. loaded potato, autumn squash from panera, clam chowder, lobster bisque, french onion, minestrone. yum

Favorite Fall Candle scent?

specifically, i like Leaves from bath and body works and home sweet home from yankee candle. in general, i like spicy scents for Fall.

Love or Hate Pumpkin Spice?

i’ve grown away from it. i like a nice pumpkin spice frappuccino once in a blue moon, but i’m more of an apple kind of girl.

Short Booties or Tall boots?

both. i’m actually on the hunt for short, black booties, so if anyone knows where i can find some in a very wide width, let me know!

Favorite Halloween Candy?

reeses and almond joy. i love the fun size bars of basically any kind of chocolate.

giphy (9)

PSL (Pumpkin Spice Latte): YES or NO?

very, very very occasionally.

Hayride or Corn Maze?

have you ever seen the episode of impractical jokers where Sal’s punishment is a “haunted” corn maze and they strap a camera to his chest so they can capture his every expression and he freaks out over everything (as usual)? that’s me. so i’m going to go with a non-haunted hayride.

Favorite Fall TV Show?

oh man, you know how I feel about TV. This Is Us, The Little Couple, Jane the Virgin, The Good Place, Bob’s Burgers, The Mindy Project, Grey’s Anatomy, How To Get Away With Murder, Chrisley Knows Best.

There’s just so many.

What are some of your favorite Fall things? If you do this survey, leave me a comment or let me know on Facebook or Instagram so I can read your answers!

11 questions

Happy Labor Day, my friends! Speaking of labor, I have gotten through my first week of work and my new job unscathed, just in time for a nice Monday off. pro tip: start a new job as close to a holiday as possible, it really helps ease you in to the position.

It’s been a while since I’ve posted a survey but, thanks to Mallory over at Mallory Can’t Even, I have one for you today! So everyone click over to her blog and say thank you. It’s the polite thing to do.

1. In baseball, each player gets a “walk up song” that plays on his way up to the plate. What song would you pick?

Well, it definitely wouldn’t be Put Me in Coach. It would have to be something distracting so that no one notices me sneaking away from the plate.

2. What’s the best thing that happened to you last weekend?

Since today is *technically* still the weekend, I’ll talk about the weekend that has already fully passed, which was my cousin’s bachelorette weekend in Ocean City, Maryland. We drove alot, we laughed alot, and, most importantly, we laughed ALOT. It was a really good time.

3. If you could have a starring role in any film already made, which movie would you pick?

I would take Reese Witherspoon’s character in This Means War so that I could change the ending and have her choose Tom Hardy over that foot head.. I mean Chris Pine.

4. What actor/actress would you have play you in a movie of your life?

If we’re going with a very loosely based version where what I really look like doesn’t matter, then Anna Kendrick. If we’re going with a truer to life version, where what I look like plays an integral part to the story, then Chrissy Metz (from This Is Us).

5. What is your favorite quote?

I don’t have just one, but the only one I can think of at this very moment is my instagram quote which is “she who leaves a trail of glitter is never forgotten.” I like it because, figuratively, the glitter could be anything. A warm smile, a positive thought, what have you. Literally, I would be the one to trail glitter through your home and every time you saw a small sparkle for the next 25 years, you’d be like “this bitch.” Case in point: I’m still hearing about how I stuffed my sweet 16 invitation envelopes with confetti and how big of a mess it was. *eyeroll*

7. What was your first concert?

Backstreet Boys 2010, Hammerstein Ballroom (best night ever)

7. What Internet website do you visit the most?

I’m going to say Facebook or maybe Youtube

8. Which of Snow White’s 7 dwarfs describes you the best and why?

I think I’m a mix of the seven, it just depends on the day. Sometimes it depends on the time of day.

9. If you were on death row, what would your last meal be?

Oh God, don’t do this to me. I would need so much, they’d probably have to start my last meal a week before the execution. My mom/grandma’s eggplant, pizza from L&B, a hot fudge and caramel sundae, roast beef and cheese, corn nuggets and an orangeade from Roll N Roaster, mozzarella sticks, the chocolate chip cookies and ice cold vanilla milk from Emeril’s Delmonicos, clam chowder in a sourdough bread bowl, THE LIST IS ENDLESS.

10. What is the background of your computer?

11. What is a TV show/movie/book from your childhood that you remember, but no one else does when you bring it up in conversation?

Literally almost everything from my childhood. I was a peculiar child, I guess. Anything from the Disney channel so, The Torkelsons and it’s spin off Almost Home, Flash Forward, Ready or Not, Even Stevens. Some of the shows from Nickelodeon like Wild and Crazy Kids or What Would You Do. As far as movies, Shelley Duvall’s Faerie Tale Theater (please, PLEASE tell me someone else watched these), Canon Tales fairy tales – Snow White and Sleeping Beauty in particular. The (animated) Flintstone movies where Pebbles and Bam Bam get married and have children, The Worst Witch movie. I’m telling you, I was a little off kilter.

And there you have it. Have a great, relaxing day off!

judge me- another survey

Hey guys! Thanks for letting me vent in my last post. Hopefully it didn’t make you click the unsubscribe button. And if it did, well, #byefelicia. Anyway, a while ago, when it didn’t take me so long to sit down and write a post, I opened my Reader to find that Mallory had given me a shoutout in a survey she filled out for her blog. You guys know I love a good survey so I couldn’t resist.

I had to open the seventh circle early today so I figured I could finally sit down and do it. It’s negative 318468 degrees in here today so there’s the added benefit of keeping my fingers moving so that they don’t fall off.

Thanks again, Mallory! Let’s get started, shall we?

1. What is your middle name?: I don’t have one. My parents insist that it was hard enough matching my first name with my last name so they didn’t feel the need to try to add another one in there. I say they should have just followed the late 80’s crowd and thrown a Marie or Lynn in there and called it a day.

2. What was favorite subject at school?: English until I got to college and found the wonderful world of communications classes. History of TV? yes, please!

3. What is your favorite drink?: Non-alcoholic it’s Diet Coke with lemon. The obsession is real. As far as alcoholic beverages go, I like a nice Amaretto and cranberry, which always gets a few side glances when I order it. I don’t understand why though, because it’s the best thing ever.

4. What is your favorite song at the moment?: Ummm.. I’ve had that never getting older song by The Chainsmokers and Halsey stuck in head for the past two days. I don’t really have a favorite song at the moment.

5. What is your favorite food?: Oh, God. So much. Too much.

<iframe src=”//” width=”480″ height=”270″ frameBorder=”0″ class=”giphy-embed” allowFullScreen></iframe><p><a href=””>via GIPHY</a></p>

6. What is the last thing you bought?: I ordered some makeup brushes the other day. I’m drawing a blank on what I spent actual money on recently though. Probably food.

7. Favorite book of all time?: The thing is I read all the time but I don’t have a favorite book. Probably because I read mostly fluffy chick lit so they all kind of blend together, which I don’t mean in a bad way; it’s fine by me. I like any and all of Meg Cabot’s non-young adult series. I really liked her last Princess Diaries one too. I liked Me Before You. I love Sophie Kinsella. I wish Ann M. Martin would write some adult Babysitters Club books. And of course, the American Girl series.

8. Favorite Color?: I don’t really have one. Right now I’m leaning towards emerald green

9. Do you have any pets?: Nope. But since I work at a vet’s office, I consider them all my pets. Whenever someone asks me what kind of pet I have, like a teacher beaming with pride at her class, I say “Oh, none of my own. I have all of these guys” pointing to our wall of charts. That way, when they start acting like assholes, they’re their parent’s problem.

10. Favorite Perfume?: Burberry Body, Chloe by Chloe, Clean Warm Cotton, and, if I’m feeling nostalgic, Gucci Rush 2.

11. Favorite Holiday?: My birthday is a holiday in France so, July 14th.

12. Are you married?: I have many, many, many celebrity husbands. Harry Styles being on top of the list. In real life, no. No one has liked it, therefore I have no ring on it.

13. Have you ever been out of the country, if so how many times?: Well, I went on a cruise to Bermuda, but after I thought I was headed to the Caribbean, I found out that it’s only about 650 miles off of the coast of North Carolina. My passport wasn’t even stamped when we got home so, #travelfail. I’m trying to get my mom to take a quick mom/daughter trip to Canada. I’ll keep you posted.

14. Do you speak any other language?: I speak Brooklyn. That’s about it.

15. How many siblings do you have?: None.

16. What is your favorite shop?: I have a love/hate relationship with shopping. I’m going to leave it at that.

17. Favorite restaurant?: I like food too much to pigeonhole myself into one restaurant.

18. When was the last time you cried?: Probably the other day. I’ve been emotional lately. that shit’s gotta stop.

19. Favorite Blog?: I follow so many but read only a few. For the most part those are Mallory (her link is at the beginning of this post), Ali, Juliette, Jessie, Natalie, Samantha, Shauna, Taylor, and Libby (come back, girl!)

20. Favorite Movie?: Again, too many to name. My favorite past times include sitting in front of the TV and eating.

21. Favorite TV shows?: Same as above.

22. PC or Mac?: PC

23. What phone do you have?: Samsung Galaxy S5.

24. How tall are you?: 5’2, maybe 5’3. I really don’t know.

25. Can you cook?: I can follow a recipe. That’s got to count for something.

And there you have it. I’m not making any promises, but maybe I’ll be back sometime during the week with something that isn’t a survey and that isn’t depressing, like that Sarah McLaughlin song.

myspace (survey) monday

I was scrolling through my Bloglovin’ feed and came across this survey from my fellow survey lover, Jessie. I figured I’d do it also because, why not. They may be boring for you, but I love them! Let’s get started!

Guilty pleasure: I don’t have many, but Keeping Up with the Kardashians is a big one. The fact that I watch it is my best/worst kept secret, next to this blog.

Fave show to watch: Anything light. I love a good reality show. As far as series, I love Jane the Virgin, I miss season 1 & 2 of Gossip Girl because it pretty much went to shit after that, I think I want to start watching Younger, but I may hold off for a little while for when I have a full day to binge. If you have any recommendations for shows like these, send them my way!

Favorite healthy eats: I’ve been craving salads lately. My favorite is from a pizza place near my house, which probably isn’t the healthiest, but it’s a spinach salad with goat cheese, candied walnuts, blueberries and a raspberry vinegarette. Again, not the healthiest but so. freaking. good.

Favorite treat: Right now, I want a vanilla cone with rainbow sprinkles from the ice cream truck. In general, I love all treats.

What supplements do you take: None. I used to take 300mg of vitamin B1 because I heard (from a trusted physician) that if it builds up in your system, it becomes a natural bug repellant. It didn’t work that way for me, but I always pass on the info because bug bites suck. (pun not intended)

Workout love: I love to tell myself that I really should workout and that I have to start soon, does that count?

Celebrity crush: Harry Styles. (and 23168412368 others but Harry is my main man of the moment #MMOM)

Favorite thing in your makeup drawer: Colourpop errryythang. Specifically Alchemy, Shameless, Boy Band (duh) eyeshadows, Trap (matte), Dopey (satin) liquid lipsticks, Butterfly Beach highlighter – OMG THIS BABY NEEDS ITS OWN POST. IT’S LIKE AN ANGEL’S WINGS HAVE GRACED YOUR FACE. BUY IT. NOW!

Health or fitness tip you’d like to share: Just do it! Honestly, that quote that I’m seeing all over the place about starting today so that in a year you won’t wish you started today. I can’t tell you how many times I was going to start working out/wiring my jaw shut eating right for an event (and for myself but really, if you have to be in your friend’s/cousin’s/coworker’s/aunt’s/whoever’s wedding, make it worth the Facebook pictures.)and then I never did and how mad and disappointed in myself I was. if i had a dollar…

Where do you buy your workout clothes: I buy my loungewear at Target, Walmart, whatever store sells the most oversized shirt and comfiest elastic waist pants.

Ideal date night: Snagging one would be a change. I don’t know. I’d want him to plan something. Listen to what I like, read my blog (Central Park is always a winner). Can’t go wrong with dinner and cupcakes, though.

Nail color: Lately I haven’t had the desire to have anything on my nails which is not the norm. I’ll wear anything, especially glitter.

Wearing: Right now, my “workout” wear. An oversized shirt and my watermelon pajama shorts (this post is pre-written so as you’re reading this, I’m probably wearing something work appropriate.)

Favorite cocktail: Amaretto and cranberry juice – don’t knock it till you try it. I also love a good pina colada.

Favorite workout jam: Proud Mary always gets me pumped.

Bachelor or Bachelorette: Neither. That’s one reality show I won’t watch (sorry, Bach fans!)

Hidden talent: I really don’t think I have one. I would love one, though. I can do the Vulcan V on both hands and I could do a card bridge when I shuffle a deck but that’s about it.

giphy (24)

If you could vacation anywhere, where would you go: I say it all the time – anywhere and everywhere. Right now, I’m focusing on seeing more of what my country has to offer. (BECAUSE IT’S GREAT ALREADY. THANKYOUVERYMUCH.) But of course, I want to see Europe, Australia, Africa.. ugh. just let me win the Mega and I’m out of here.

If you do this survey, let me know in the comments or link me because I’d love to see your answers!

everyone’s favorite party game!

It’s been about two weeks since I last did a survey so I’d say one is due. I found this one, as I do most all of my other ones, on Jessie’s blog, Just Jessie. She always has good, different surveys and we all know how I love a good, different survey. This one is everyone’s favorite party game – Would You Rather. Here we go!

Be an amazing actress or singer?
I immediately thought singer because I’ve been pretty bummed lately that when I sing along to Adele in the car, it sounds nothing like when she sang with James Corden in a car. But, since I watched Leo win his Oscar, I’ve been thinking how great it would be to not only be a part of something that is held in such high regard, but it must be amazing to be the star of it. I know singers can win Oscars and they have the Grammys, but there was just something about watching him win that made me think “woah. #chills” It could be that it was Leo and it was such a long time coming… Singer, I’ll just go with singer.

Go camping in the mountains for the weekend or get a hotel on the beach?
How about a hotel in the woods? I’m not cut out for camping; even glamping makes me a bit itchy. I like the beach, but who needs all that sand?

Have to sit all day or stand all day?
I have bad feet so I’d rather sit so I don’t get bitchy cranky. I would, however love a treadmill desk. It’s like when you wrap your dog’s medication in a piece of cheese for them. Good and good for you!

Have a night out on the town or night in with Netflix?
I haven’t had a night on the town in ages so for some variety, I’d choose that. If we’re being honest though, I feel like I could always find something to watch on Netflix or Hulu.

Go skiing/snowboarding or waterskiing?
Skiing/snowboarding so that I could sip hot chocolate in the lodge. Preferably dressed like a snow bunny straight out of a 90’s movie.

Be able to exist healthily without food or without sleep?
Probably sleep. But it would have to be something that is the norm for everyone because as much as I’m a night owl, I kind of hate being the only one awake in my house.

Go by your first or middle name?
Since I don’t have a middle name I don’t have much of a choice, do I?

Have a kangaroo or koala as a pet?
Koalas are cute, but riddled with syphilis (what? it’s true!) so I’ll say kangaroo. Also, I would train them to carry me in their pouch. Free transportation! And a great hiding spot!

Lose $1,000 or lose all of your phone contacts?
Phone contacts. I have most of my important numbers memorized anyway.

Eat cookies or french fries?
Right now, cookies. Forever? oof. I’m going to have to go with french fries.

Be hot all the time or cold all the time?
At work there’s only like a two week period where the temperature is just right. Otherwise it’s usually hotter than Hades. I run warmer than most so I guess I’m used to being hot all the time.

Read the book or watch the movie?
BOOK! It’s usually the better choice.

Drink hot or iced coffee/tea?
Iced coffee, hot tea.

Live in a small town or big city?
Big city!

Cook a gourmet meal at home or order take-out from an upscale restaurant?
I’d want to know how to make a gourmet meal, but have the option of ordering out. Except if the place doesn’t deliver; I might as well just cook for myself then.

Wear pajamas or a dress suit everywhere, every day?
Ughhh. Suits are so uncomfortable, but I hate feeling under dressed or dressed inappropriately. I guess pajamas because they don’t really need to match.

Have a year without paying taxes or an extra month of paid vacation?
If the job that gives me the vacation pays me well enough to afford taxes and to travel, then I’ll pay the taxes. If not, what’s the use of extra vacation days?

Live without music or television?
You mean my right arm or my left one?

Watch 5 classic Disney princess movies you’ve seen 10+ times or 3 Pixar movies you’ve never seen?
Seeing as I could recite The Little Mermaid, I could probably just watch the old Disney movies in my head. So, Pixar.

Take a European sight-seeing vacation or relaxing Caribbean vacation?
EUROPE. When do we leave?

And that does it! As usual, if you do this survey, let me know so I could read your answers!

another day, another survey

I know, I know my last post was a survey and #spoileralert this post is a survey, but I had a wisdom tooth pulled yesterday so take pity on me. I found this one from Jessie over at Just Jessie. It seemed fun and even a little bit different so win/win.

Let’s get started shall we?

Five places I’m dying to visit
New Orleans
Chicago (in the summer)
Boston (or Philly – I just want to do a quick road trip)

Five foods I eat every day
Diet Coke
a bagel
something sweet, usually after breakfast
an ice cold orange

Five talents I wish I had
SINGING. maybe then Adele would notice me and we could be BFFs.
small talk. I hate it and hate that I’m no good at it.
knowing the right thing to say at all times. different than small talk, I mean I want to inherently know how to tell someone off without sounding like an idiot, yet at the same time able to comfort someone when they are upset.
the ability to execute the DIY projects I think of in my head without a hitch.
making the perfect piece of toast.

Five bloggers I wish would cook for me every day
Emily Bites

giphy (8)

Five Instagram accounts I love
Puppystagrams (yep- all puppies, all the time!)
Kate Spade
Betches Love Cheese

Basically anything funny, pretty, cute or cheesy.

Five things I wear almost every day
A bra – unfortunately
My cross/M necklace
shoes – again, unfortunately
nail polish
a look of annoyance at life/people in general

Five songs I listen to on repeat

One Direction – Made in the AM album
Sam Hunt – Take Your Time & Break Up in a Small Town
Jimmy Buffet – Cheeseburger in Paradise & Margaritaville (I NEED SUMMER)
Taylor Swift – Out of the Woods

This is the playlist I play at work all the time, just to give you an idea. I would add a little more Eminem, Biggie and Disney if I could but all three are frowned upon.

Five beauty products I use every day
mascara – I’d tell you which one, but I’m on the hunt for a new one.
brown eyeliner
my Clairisonic
Kiko Cosmetics moisturizers and serums

Five movies I can watch on repeat
The Little Mermaid
This Means War
The First Wives Club
You’ve Got Mail
basically, anything Disney or any chick flick.

Five books on my current reading list
I only read one book at a time, but you can check my Goodreads for my To Be Read list!

Five random things I ate yesterday
Not much. Thanks, wisdom tooth.
mashed potatoes
a bagel with butter and jelly, toasted (pre-yanking)
stuffing out of a stuffed pork chop – which was delish and I wish I could have had more than two bites

So that was fun, right? I don’t think this is a tag so if you want to do it, go right ahead! Just let me know if you have so I can read your answers!

Christmas Favorites!

Guys, we’re in the home stretch. 5 days till Christmas and 12 days until 2016. crazypants.

Anywhoo, last year I did a Christmas survey so I figured I’d do one this year too because, tradition.

I’m borrowing this one from Libby at Honestly, Libby. I use the term borrow very loosely because I can’t give it back. I can tell you to go over and read hers though, which you definitely should. So, when you’re done here go straight there. I’m not kidding.

I’m also borrowing the u in favorite because it’s fun and makes me feel super posh. Now on with the show.

What are your Favourite Christmas colors?
Anything that sparkles, for the win.

PJ’s or fancy dress of Christmas day?
My family has (very frustratingly) made every holiday a “dress sweats” holiday. Dress sweats, if you aren’t familiar, are the nicest pair of sweatpants/track suit that you won. It irks the ever loving shit out of me. So this year, I’m going to wear a skirt and a nice top. And I’ll probably bring my dress sweats for when dinner is over because I could only be ladylike for so long.

giphy (28)

Presents on Christmas Eve or Christmas morning?
Christmas morning. The anticipation thrills me.

Stay home or go away?
Stay home as in I stay in the tri-state area. I go over the river and through the woods to Staten Island for Christmas dinner.

Favourite part of the Christmas meal?
The part where I say to myself “a new year starts in a week, so could your diet” and I eat the extra ravioli.

giphy (29)

Favourite Holiday treat?
All of them.

Dream Christmas Location?
LONDON. I’d take Italy also. But really, why would I leave New York at Christmas time? (because London and Italy – that’s why.)

Pro-present wrapper?
In my dreams.

Favourite Reindeer?

giphy (30)

Favourite Cracker Toy?
Are crackers like stockings? In that case, Reeses Trees. If they aren’t, then I’m going to “borrow” Libby’s answer and say jewelry because who would say no to sparkly wearables?

Favourite Christmas Decoration?
I love wreaths. The heavily decorated ones. And double points if they have lights.

Can you name all of the Reindeer?
Yes! Sneezy, Sleepy, Bashful, Dopey, Grumpy, Bashful, and Doc. Wait…

Weirdest gift you ever got?
My father always gets me one of those shirts with wolves howling at the moon on them. I don’t know why because I’ve never had any sort of fascination with wolves. One year I mentioned that I thought otters were cute so instead of wolves I got an otter family shirt. Thank God for bottom drawers.

Favourite Christmas Memory?
I have so many. Going to church with my grandma on Christmas Eve, opening presents on Christmas morning with my parents and then Christmas afternoon with the rest of my family, getting letters from Santa, checking to see if he came and if Rudolph ate his carrot. SO MANY.

Favourite Christmas Carol?
The entire NSYNC Home for the Holidays album, All I want for Christmas is You, It’s Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas, the song from Home Alone 2 when Kev and his mom are reunited.

Favourite Christmas Movie?
I wrote about some of them here but there are so many more. I’ll just go with basically every one ever made. Except those claymation Rudolph and Friends ones. Ugh.

giphy (31)

And that’s about it, folks. If you do this survey, please tag me so I can see it!

yea, another one.

Let me just apologize from now that this post is another survey one. I’m struggling, guys. I know I should be writing what I think but, lately, I feel like I have not one original thought in my pretty little head. Bear with me (uhhh-gan). I have a few busy weekends coming up so things will get better. Or they should. god i hope so.

Anyway, I was going through my Bloglovin’ feed and I saw this post from Jessie at Just Jessie. I figured, who am I to pass up a good survey? Let’s get started!

One. Favorite food?
All of it.

Two. You’ve been handed two free round-trip tickets…who are you taking and where are you going?
I think about this a lot, too much, probably. I want to go to Europe in the WORST WAY. But I also want to go to California and Canada and EVERYWHERE. No matter where I go, I’d probably take my mom so that she could pay for things. I mean, if I finagled the tickets, she could buy me dinner in Italy.

Three. Flip flops or high heels?
I just want shoes that don’t make my feet hurt. So far, nothing has fit the bill.

Four. Would you rather have a perfect bum, or a flawless face?
I never had a problem with my face minus the occasional breakout. That being said, I’m still going to go with flawless face as long as it doesn’t mean I’d get to keep the bum I have now. It’s not perfect, but it’s better than nothing. i make no sense at all. whatever.

Five. What shows are you ashamed to admit are on your DVR?
I’m not ashamed of anything I watch on TV but since I’m a team player, I’ll admit that I taped Babes in Toyland (the good one with Drew Barrymore) a few Christmases ago and set it to “Save Until I Delete”.

Six. What’s your ringtone?
I have a Samsung Galaxy but I downloaded the iPhone ringer. My text tone is the AOL instant messenger sound. my coolness knows no bounds.

Seven. Favorite places to shop … for me!
Just get me an American Express gift card or cash.

Eight. Standard coffee order?
From Dunkin Donuts it’s usually either an iced coffee with cream, an iced caramel latte with cream (yes, I know it’s going to be light. i’ll live.), an iced hazelnut swirl with (you guessed it) cream or an apple cider – if it would ever come back. From Starbucks it’s usually a hazelnut frappuccino, a vanilla macchiato, a passion tea lemonade or a vanilla bean frappuccino.

Nine. Road trip must have snacks?
I usually just walk into 7-11 or Wawa, open my tote bag and Supermarket Sweep the shit out of the candy aisle store.

giphy (6)

Ten. DIY or hire it out?

Eleven. What was your first car, and did you name it?
I drive my mom’s Kia. I named her Kelly.

Twelve. Top 5 TV shows.
Oh, don’t do this to me.
1. The Mindy Project
2. TGIT minus Scandal
3. Almost any of the reality shows on TLC and Lifetime.
4. Jane the Virgin
5. Dancing with the Stars
6. Almost anything on HGTV, DIY and The Food Network.
7. QVC

Thirteen. Favorite Book?
I love to read but I don’t have a favorite book. I have a goodreads that you should follow/friend. Fair warning: Like with my television viewing, I am not ashamed that the books I read don’t require much thinking.

Fourteen. Favorite form of exercise?
Clearly, I haven’t found it yet.

Fifteen. How tall are you?
I’m going to go with 5’2.

Sixteen. Do you try something new at restaurants or stick to your favorites?
I usually try something new unless I’ve been to the restaurant before and/or I am craving something specific.

Seventeen. What would you request for your last supper?
I recently read a story about why Texas doesn’t give death row inmates a last meal choice anymore. Apparently, the last guy to have a say in his last meal ordered, like, everything he could have thought of and then didn’t eat a bite. you know what they say about that one bad apple… Anyway, that would be me except I’d probably eat it all. I mean, last meal EVER? It could take days.

Eighteen. One make-up item you can’t live without?

Nineteen. Will you leave the house without makeup?
More than I probably should.

Twenty. What’s on your night stand?

Twenty-one. Have you ever been hospitalized, and if so, what for?

Twenty-two. You just unloaded your Halloween haul…what candy do you go for first?
REESES. or anything full sized.

Twenty-three. One thing motherhood has taught you.
I’m not a mother, but knowing my own, I’ve got big shoes to fill.

Twenty-four. Do you have any siblings, and if so, where are you in the birth order?
I joke that I have an older sister who is a real bitch and refuses to come around, but in actuality, I’m all byyyy myyyyseelllfff.

Twenty-five. What do you eat for breakfast?
Usually a bagel. Sometimes a bacon, egg and cheese on a bagel with an iced coffee. If I’m feeling really fancy, I’ll get it from the diner. what’s up with all the food questions?

Twenty-six. Music that reminds you of high school.
I have a whole Spotify playlist dedicated to high school. By the way, my reunion is on Saturday. Excuse me while I cry in a corner.

Twenty-seven. If you could live anywhere in the world other than your current city, where?
Watch me jump through this loophole. My current city is Brooklyn. I would love to live in New York City (Manhattan), preferably the Upper East Side. Therefore, I would get to stay in the five boroughs; it’s the best of both worlds! Playing fair, I’d have to say whatever city Father of the Bride was shot in. Or in one of those big, charming neighborhoods/homes in the South.

Twenty-eight. Tell us something about you we might not know.

I never know what to say. I’m an open book.

Twenty-nine. Websites you read/browse (besides blogs)
YouTube, Facebook, Twitter. I’m also a big link-clicker so I’m really all over the place.

Thirty. Morning person or night owl?
I’m an all day kind of person. I don’t mind being up early and I like staying up late.

Thirty-one. What’s your best feature?
My eyes. Also, my sparkling personality, winning sense of humor and my ability to quote movies on a whim.

Thirty-two. What would you do for a living if you didn’t need money?
Fill my days with fun things and go on adventures so that I’d have something to put on this blog besides surveys. I mean, I love them but, really.

Thirty-three. Finish this sentence: Every room needs….
A smart TV, a bed, a laptop and room service. And a window.

Thirty-four. How frequently do you wash your hair? Do you have any hair secrets or tricks?
I probably should wash it everyday because the oil situation is real. I usually wash it every other day, depending on what’s going on.

OK. We’ve come to the end. I’m trying to put together a Friday favorites post, since I haven’t done one in a while and since I bought the cutest sheets the other day. Other than that, I’ll see what I can do. I apologize if this was boring. I’ve been reading posts from the bloggers whose writing I admire, trying to figure out how to make things interesting. Like, Heather from Dooce wrote about making a phone call and it was great. A PHONE CALL. Now that’s talent. I’ll get there. Things will get interesting. If I keep saying it, it will happen, right? Putting things out to the universe or something.

What’s going on with you guys? If you want to do this survey, feel free! Let me know so I can read your answers!

TAG: this or that – summer edition!

I wanted to be like the cool kids and write a weekend round-up but I quickly realized that wasn’t going to happen so I found a summer this or that tag on Always, Abby and since we’re heading for a heatwave here, what’s a better time to do it?

Ocean or Pool
POOL. The ocean might be relaxing, but the sand that comes with it, is not. Pools also don’t have sharks or jellyfish, which seem to be running rampant on the East Coast lately.

Beach Vacation or Wilderness
See, now this is where I contradict myself. I will NOT go camping. EVER. The thought of bugs and mountain lions and peeing in a bush and foraging for food do not appeal to me at all. I like driving through the woods, like if we go up to the Poconos or something but there’s a hotel at the end of that drive and that suits me just fine. That being said, I guess I’d rather be at the beach but there’s that whole sand issue. will i ever be satisfied?

Watermelon or Strawberries
Watermelon – all day, every day

Bikini or 1-piece
One piece; more because I think they’re classier looking and less because I’d need to be dead ten years to even think about putting one on.

Lemonade or Iced Tea
Iced tea with ice, please.

Hotdogs…grilled or over a fire
I’ve never had weenies over an open flame so I’m going to go with grilled.

Hat or Sunglasses
Sunglasses, when I remember to wear them

Windows Down or AC all the way
I can’t live without my AC. Actually, I’m OK during the day but at night I need my room to be chilly. And by chilly, I mean arctic.

Tanning Lotion or Sunscreen
Tanning lotion with some SPF. My favorite, in case you were wondering, is Maui Babe Browning Lotion. It smells like coffee and doesn’t turn you orange. Just slap it on and bake in the sun.

Baseball Game or Concert
Both are fun. Both are opportunities to watch men run around in tight pants, assuming you’re like me and the only (summer) concerts you’ve been to are Backstreet Boys ones.

Ice Cream or Popsicle
Both sound delicious right about now.

Fireworks or Fireflies
Fireflies because they don’t make me pee my pants, which is a story for a different post.

Flip Flops or Bare Feet
My feet are their happiest when they don’t have shoes on, but what they fail to realize is shoes keep rocks and pieces of glass from embedding themselves in to them.

Water Balloons or Squirt Guns
I remember being in camp with my cousins, filling up water balloons at the water fountain next to the smelly park bathroom. I could never tie them so I’m not sure why I always filled them. I also remember begging my parents for a Super Soaker, which I believe is still in my garage somewhere.

And there you have it. Definitely not a weekend wrap up but at least it’s something. If you want to do this tag, feel free!

Talk to you soon!

i am fully aware that this is not myspace

Ok. I know my last post was a survey and (surprise!) this post will be a survey. I am fully aware that this is not Myspace. However, I’m stuck at work and missing my beloved Superbowl commercials so I’m feeling a bit deflated, not unlike Tom Brady’s balls. (ba dum dum) tumblr_ml3zjyGk2f1s2kzvmo1_500 i planned for this to go up on Sunday, obviously. unfortunately, life happened. so even though it’s now old news and football season is over, i had to leave that tom brady’s balls line in because i laughed way too hard for far too long about it. moving on…

What are you wearing?
Am I going to get dinner or a drink out of this?

Ever been in love?
Only with my mirror. Except sometimes it’s a jerk.

Ever had a terrible breakup?

How tall are you?
I’m in the neighborhood of 5’2″/ 5’3″

How much do you weigh?
Did this survey just ask me how much I weigh? Rude.

Any tattoos?
Nope. I go through phases of wanting one and then I wind up talking myself out of it.

Any piercings?
Just my ears. And they’re crooked.

OMG so many. Mindy and Danny, Chuck and Blair, DJ and Steve, Ariel and Eric, Me and Zac Efron.

Favorite show?
I named some of my current favorites here.

Favorite bands?
Backstreet Boys and One Direction are all I need.

Something you miss?
My youth.

Favorite song?
At the moment, Thinking Out Loud by Ed Sheeran. Of all time? there’s too many to name. Proud Mary always get me dancing though. Just like Tina.

How old are you?
27 and a half.

Zodiac sign?

Quality you look for in a partner?
He has to be funny, smart, smells good. I touched on my ideal man here.

Favorite Quote?
I wanted this answer to be a mix of smart and funny, maybe thought provoking, but I can’t think of anything that is just right. The only thing that is coming to mind right now is from my favorite pocket sized crooner, Bruno Mars. “I’m smoother than a fresh jar of Skippy.”

Favorite actor?
Again, so many. I think Meryl Streep is God’s gift to Hollywood. I love Anna Kendrick, Anne Hathaway, Leonardo “Where Is My Oscar” DiCaprio, Tom Hardy. Just too many.

Favorite color?
Anything that sparkles.

Loud music or soft?
Soft. Unless I’m at a concert, and even then I sometimes think, ” Can’t they just turn it down a notch?”

Where do you go when you’re sad?
To the liquor store. Actually, no. I don’t condone drinking your problems away. I don’t usually go anywhere. I kind of just mope around until I feel better. pity parties for the win!

How long does it take you to shower?
I set aside an hour and a half to get ready for work. That’s showering, getting dressed, putting on makeup, the whole nine yards. I’m late probably 4 out of 5 days so the answer is too long.

How long does it take you to get ready in the morning?
More than an hour and a half.

Ever been in a physical fight?
Not technically. I was pushed but I didn’t fall so I just walked away.

Turn on?
Sense of humor, being smart without being arrogant.

Turn off?
Talking to me when I obviously don’t want you to, asking me a question and then cutting me off in the middle of my answer, bad teeth.

The reason I made a blog?
I wanted to start something and see it through to the end. Also, I got this idea in my head that somehow, someway someone with the ability to hire would see it and want me to work for them. Nothing yet.

Ugh. Again, too many. I’m afraid of everything.

Last thing that made you cry?
I’m feeling stressed at work (I know we’ve been over this) so even though I haven’t cried yet, I feel it coming.

Last time you said you loved someone?
The last time I spoke to my mom. I always tell her I love you before I leave or hang up.

Meaning behind your blog name?
I wanted something fun and young and chic and that’s what I came up with. I talked about that in my Liebster award acceptance questions.

Last book you read?
“The 12 Daves of Christmas” I got it for either free or really cheap on Amazon for my Kindle. It was really cute.

The book you’re currently reading?
Something Borrowed by Tina Reilly. It’s taking me fooooreverrr to read this book. Part of the reason is that I’m busier than usual and the other part is that I’m having a hard time getting in to it. I picked this one because the author’s name is really Martina and I wanted to show some support to my fellow uniquely named sister.

Last show you watched?
I have Everybody Loves Raymond on right now in the background, but the last show I sat down to watch was Jeopardy. Does that make me boring?

Last person you talked to?
My mom.

The relationship between you and the person you last texted?
She’s one of my oldest friends who happens to live across the street from me. Nicole. it was Nicole.

Favorite food?
Anything not nailed down. ha. no, seriously. I’ll try anything and usually end up liking it.

Place you want to visit?
We’ve definitely been over this. Anywhere and everywhere.

Last place you were?
I just got out of the shower so I guess the bathroom. But like last place I was before heading home? Work, aka Satan’s lair.

Do you have a crush?
Nope. I really, really want one though. Is that odd?

Last time you were insulted?
Oh please. I don’t consider myself one of those people who get offended at everything but I could probably say at least once a day I find myself thinking “Did they seriously just say that to me?”

Favorite flavor of sweet?
Lately I’ve been craving Air Heads all the time but usually it’s chocolate.

What instruments do you play?
I can’t even think of anything sarcastic to say. The radio? The pre/recorder? It’s been a while.

Favorite piece of jewelry?
My grandmother wore a small M necklace all the time. I remember asking her if when she died, would I get that necklace? Before you start yelling how inappropriate that is, keep in mind, I had to be about 3 or 4. 5 the oldest so I really don’t think I understood the concept of death. Anyway, when she passed away my mom gave me the necklace. I added the cross my godmother got for me when I was baptized and I haven’t taken it off since.

Last sport you played?
HAHAHAHAAHAHAHAH. Oh, I laughed from a good place.

Last song you sang?
I was lip-syncing to the Disney station I made on my Pandora earlier. Believe it or not, this helps me get through the day. So, if you’re having a bad day at work (or in general) just hop on to Pandora and make a Disney station!

Favorite chat up/pick up line?
Ok. I seriously had to Google pick up lines. Not because I don’t know what they are but because I’ve never had one used on me. Lame, I know. So here are a few that made me second hand embarrassed for people who use them.

  • Are you a camera? Because every time I look at you, I smile.
  • Are you an orphanage? Cause I wanna give you kids.
  • Did you fart, cause you blew me away. (no freaking way)
  • This isn’t a beer belly, It’s a fuel tank for a love machine. (um.)

Have you ever used it?
No. I could never.

Last time you hung out with anyone?
I went to brunch this past weekend for Lisa’s birthday. It was a good time!

Who should answer these questions next?
Anyone who wants to!

My next post probably won’t be a survey but since I can’t think that far in advance, I’m not making any promises. Anyway, I hope this one answered some burning questions you had about me.
