    martina is losing it #27

It is currently Sunday night. I’m fighting the Sunday Sadness by watching the new Four Weddings and a Funeral on Hulu because Mindy Kaling is behind it and I can only re-watch The Mindy Project so many times. Luckily, I haven’t exceeded that limit so I’ll probably turn it on later. God, I miss that show. Anyway, we’re here for an update, right? Let’s begin. First, I should mention that I changed my weigh in day to Monday. I’ll explain why in a minute. That being said, by the time this goes up my grand total may be different, but in the long run, who cares because my updates are…

    martina is losing it #22

I’m writing this on Easter Sunday, about 3ish weeks since my last update. I’d say that’s nothing short of a miracle. April has not been the best month, it’s been pretty shitty, frankly. I had two very little losses and one big 1.3 lbs – which is big for me) gain. A loss is a loss, as I find myself repeating and hopefully next Thursweigh will be better. Still in all, I’m down a total of 76.3 pounds, which is only .3 off of my lowest weight. So, still not too shabby. I’ve talked about my theory on why men lose weight faster and, in my opinion, more consistently than…

    one year down

A year ago today I embarked on what I could only describe as a whirlwind journey. Which feels weird to say because I didn’t get married or become a mom and everyone says those are the big ones. Those are the whirlwinds. Those people must not have lost almost 80 pounds in a year. BUT I DIGRESS. I’ve learned more about myself in the past 365 days than I did in any of the rest of my 31 years. The picture in the top left corner is the one that started it all. That brunch was only a year ago and it feels like forever. When I first saw it…

    martina is losing it #22

….aaand we’re back. Hello? Is this thing on? It’s been so long I’ve almost forgotten how to do any of this. But we’re here and we are thriving. I know that when blogs that aren’t weight loss blogs (or that are, whatever) don’t give an update in a while, it usually means the writer/loser had fallen off the wagon or is too busy being on billboards in Times Square. I have not done either, but I should be on a billboard. Because, friends, -sit down for this unless you’re ready, which I don’t think you are-¬† I am down a total of 76.7 pounds. SEVENTY-SIX POINT SEVEN POUNDS I hit…

    martina is losing it #20

I know, it’s been forever since I last updated everyone. Unless you saw my latest instagram post. If you did, then just act surprised. Three weigh-ins ago, I lost 4.1 pounds, which at the time put me at 70 pounds down. Like, 70 on the nose. I know, crazy. I was guardedly optimistic. I’m still in awe of it all and it still doesn’t seem real. It’s almost a year so I don’t know what’s going on. Anyway, I wanted to wait a week and see which way the scale went. At the next weigh-in, the scale betrayed me and skyrocketed up 4.4 pounds. Rude. RUUUUUUUUDEEEEE. I was really upset.…

    martina is losing it #16

Part of the issue of me not getting a routine post up is that, as I said in my last post, I fall into a YouTube hole, or I’m catching up on my other stories and since I only have one screen, I could only focus on one thing at a time. My stories usually win out and my adoring fans lose. Sorry, every one (of you). The point of this is to say that thanks to an early Black Friday sale, I treated* myself to a Firestick from Amazon. “Big deal, Martina. Welcome to 2018” – you, probably. It means I can totally dedicate my screentime to writing and…

    martina is losing it #15

As with the past few of these posts, you’d be amazed at how many times I’ve tried to start a post and then fell into a Youtube hole and wind up closing the tab without writing a word. I’ve been hacking up a lung for two days now and seeing as it’s the weekend, what a better time to lock myself in my bed to write and convalesce. Cutting to the chase, I know I’ve missed two weeks of updates. November started off strong with a 3.2 pound loss. I felt that one. My body felt different in the days leading up to Thursweigh. The second weigh-in of the month…

    martina is losing it #14

I’m going to be real with you guys. Part of my absence was because time just got away from me and all of a sudden it’s like 3 weeks and I haven’t put up an update. The other part was that October was not the greatest month on this journey for me. In total, I’ve lost 5.2 pounds for the month. That’s with a very (,¬†very) small gain, one nice loss, and then two other weeks of lackluster losses. I mean, as much as I’m complaining and kind of wallowing, it’s 5.2 pounds that are not on me anymore. This brings my overall total to 52.5 pounds lost. That’s (supposedly)…

    martina is losing it #9

In a small turn of events, I actually planned to not write a post for the week before last. I knew it wasn’t going to be the greatest weigh in and I really didn’t want to over exert myself. This is basically my only hobby and I haven’t done a GD thing this summer, obviously, I need a break. Anyway, I was right, and the week before last wasn’t the best weigh in. I lost .7lbs. Don’t get me wrong, a loss is a loss, but I feel like (for me) anything less than a pound is a wasted week. I question what I did wrong, how can I lose…

    martina is losing it #8

If I’m being honest, I didn’t realize I missed last week’s update until this afternoon when my legion of fan (hey Libby!) asked for one and I was like wow, this is what Kim Kardashian must feel like. Anyway, my block party* was two weeks ago. *i’m not sure if this is regional and/or if i’ve explained this before, but where i’m from a block party is where your street gets permission from the city to close for the day. Everyone takes their cars off the street and put out tables and barbeques. Kids ride bikes, scooters, whatever. there’s rides, games, cotton candy, sometimes face painting or spin art, and…
