    Getting patriotic

    On my first day of kindergarten I cried as if my parents told me they were selling me to the gypsies and that I would never see them again. The rest of the week wasn’t much different. Sometime during that week however, my teacher started to get the class into a routine. Go to your cubbies, hang up your coat, sit in your chair, wait for instructions. It was also during that week that first heard the xylophone chime signaling us to stand, put our little hands over our hearts, and recite the Pledge of Allegiance.
