weekend update: christmas shopping, light displays and historic houses
So, it’s Sunday night and I’m actually writing a weekend update post. Friday I took the day off of work so that I could uphold the tradition (and necessary evil) of going Christmas shopping with my mom, aunt, and cousins. When I say necessary evil, it’s the crowds and the pressure of getting it all done that I hate, not the company. The mall we went to had a huge Christmas tree in the middle and if anyone thought they would get out of taking a selfie in front of it while I was around, they were sadly mistaken. Saturday was tree day, where my mom picked out the best…

weekend update: oldest bridesmaid, reporting for duty.
Helloooo! It’s Tuesday, which means I’m finally getting around to writing my weekend update post. I have no excuse as to why it was late again except that I’m old and needed to recover. I had off on Thursday because of Rosh Hashana (sidenote: september is officially my new favorite month. i get off for labor day and two Jewish holidays, so long as they fall on a weekday. amazing.) so I took that opportunity to get my nails done for my cousin’s wedding on Saturday. I’ll just consider that the start of wedding weekend. Friday I went back to work and the day dragged unbelievably. Like last week, I can’t…

weekend update: meeting Fearless Girl and riding a fish.
Happy Monday, friends! *let’s all ignore that it’s actually tuesday.* Since I finally stopped working the weekend (I know this comes up in every post but it still feels new and good. #honeymoonstage), I’ve been pretty busy. I haven’t written about any of it because my time management skills are garbage and I can’t seem to get a weekend update post before Friday. This past weekend I was able to finally just be on my own time and do my own thing, which was a whole lot of nothing. And it was marvelous. I honestly can’t remember what I did on Friday. If I had to guess, I came home…

weekend update: burgers, shakes and statues
I don’t do weekend recap posts often, but when I do… they’ll be here. I actually did things this weekend and since I have some time to write about them, I figured, why not? Lisa’s birthday is next week but being the busy adults we are, we penciled in plans for Saturday night. Jessica’s landlord is a producer on Saturday Night Live and as a birthday surprise, Jess was able to score tickets for her and Lisa to see the show. The host was Aziz Ansari, who we happened to see as a special guest at the Comedy Cellar. He used some of the same jokes in his monologue and I…

weekend update: bridge views
Happy Monday! Except for me, it’s more like Wednesday since I’ve been working since Saturday. See what having a weekend job does to you? Or maybe it’s just me since tons of other people seem to cope much better than I do. Anyway, I figured I would share what I did this weekend, even though it was technically Thursday and Friday. Wednesday afternoon I got a text from Lisa asking if I wanted to go to the Promenade later that day. I’ve talked about the Promenade before. It’s in Brooklyn Heights, has excellent views of lower Manhattan and is where I spent most of my lunch breaks in college. So,…

weekend update: food, friends and billy joel
It’s weekend recap time! Let’s pretend I do these almost every weekend instead of almost never. So, it was a lot of nothing/lot of everything kind of weekend. I mean, the usual. Friday: Billy Joel has a residency at Madison Square Garden. He does one concert a month, which he said he would do until people stopped coming. like that will ever happen. I got tickets to the May show. I’m going to take a sharp left here and not ramble for a million hours about this concert. i’m going to try to, anyway. I’m going to take another left and just put it out there that I do not have tons of…
