We’re going through a huge computer system overhaul at work, thanks Microsoft, and because there is an overwhelming fear of losing every last document on our computers, huge external hard drives were purchased – like 3 terabyte huge, yet I can’t get a raise. The computers are supposed to be backed up weekly and guess who was nominated to do these back ups. If you guess anyone but me, you’d be deeply disappointed. The only good thing is that when it comes to computers, the people upstairs are not so well versed and don’t know how to do this or long this should take. My boss wasn’t in the other day so her secretary took the opportunity to have me start this week’s backup. While I was “hard at work” backing up every last one of my boss’ pictures, documents and whatever else has been living in her machine from God knows when or where, I took a quick break to browse Instagram. I recently followed a blogger who goes by the name Curvily. She runs a plus sized fashion blog and therefore posts lots of plus sized fashion on her Instagram feed. I came across this picture and instantly fell in love with this hashtag – and I love me some hashtags.
How great is this? I can’t tell you how many times I’ve stared longingly at some article of clothing and wished it would come in my size. Actually, yes I can- MILLIONS. Part of the solution would be to put the plus size section closer to the front of the store, maybe I wouldn’t have to walk past all of the cute clothes. (God forbid the chubs are in the front; they might be seen shopping in your store! Like normal people who like to wear clothes! That’s another post for another soapbox) You can’t miss what you didn’t even know was there. I’ve written about the inadequacies/inequalities in the plus size section before, and in all honesty, I’ll probably write about them again (and again – deal with it). Anyway, I just thought I would spread the word. I know I’ll be using the hell out of this hashtag.
