Welcome.

When I like something I have the habit of overdoing it. I’m constantly changing the person who cuts my hair, I have more unfinished crafty projects than I know what to do with. What makes me think starting a blog would have been any different? I’ve started and abandoned more blogs than the Rockefeller Center tree has lights. So here we go again. This time though, I’ve made it impossible to quit. I paid for this one. I would love to say that I used my noggin for this decision but really, I didn’t. I always wanted my own domain name and since now I’ve thought of one that I am a little bit in love with, I figured, what the hell? I thought long and hard about what name I could use for my shiny new blog. I think I chose one that fits me. Finally. Mimosa is bubbly and sweet – two things that I like to attribute to myself. At least that’s what I pay people to say about me. And now a Splash of Mimosa is born. Welcome.

Since my dreams and goals of this rebirth of my blog include reaching millions of people daily, I guess I should introduce myself.  For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Martina. I’m from Brooklyn, NY. Biggie and Lil’ Kim are from here too.  Actually, I work at the hospital Lil’ Kim was born in. Stop hating – my street cred ends there. Glitter is my favorite color. I never leave my house without my camera, which I’m pretty sure started when I was 16 and used the disposable ones. I am an only child but one of 8 cousins so it’s really a win/win situation (usually). I love cheese and my condiment of choice is ketchup. Christmas is my favorite holiday; summer is my favorite season. My happy places are divided between anywhere my family is, Central Park, Sephora, and Barnes and Noble. I am a hopeless romantic and dream of being swept off my feet. I hate math but love reading. I love sappy 90’s romantic comedies like “You’ve Got Mail”. Really, I love anything 90’s. Don’t even get me started on the Backstreet Boys. It’s a love that runs deep and wide. I am currently underemployed and fruitlessly searching for full-time employment.

While I decide on topics to impart my wisdom on, I’ll include a link to my old blog. Check it out and see if it’s worth it to stick around (spoiler alert: IT IS!)

So here it is. My first post on my own domain name. I feel like I moved into my first apartment. What a rush. Wish me luck.
